Roben Mfg, Inc. fabricates stainless steel high pressure agitated reactors for applications requiring superior corrosion resistance under extreme pressure conditions. Our stainless steel high-pressure vessels deliver reliable performance in aggressive chemical environments while maintaining the material purity essential for pharmaceutical, food, and specialty chemical manufacturing.
Stainless steel alloys provide excellent corrosion resistance combined with the mechanical strength required for high-pressure service. These materials resist attack from acids, bases, and organic compounds while maintaining structural integrity at elevated pressures and temperatures. The passive oxide layer prevents product contamination, making stainless steel ideal for high-purity applications requiring pressure processing.
Grade selection balances corrosion resistance with mechanical properties. 316/316L is standard for most high-pressure chemical and pharmaceutical applications. Duplex grades like 2205 provide higher strength allowing reduced wall thickness. 317L addresses severe chloride environments. We recommend grades based on your specific chemistry and pressure requirements.
Higher pressures require thicker walls or higher-strength materials. Duplex stainless steels offer roughly twice the yield strength of standard austenitic grades, enabling lighter vessels at equivalent pressure ratings. Material selection also considers operating temperature effects on strength and potential for stress corrosion cracking.
We provide mechanical polishing through mirror finish, electropolishing for maximum corrosion resistance and cleanability, and passivation treatments. Pharmaceutical applications typically require electropolished surfaces meeting ASME BPE standards. Surface finish specifications are documented with measured Ra values.
