Heavy Drilling and Milling for Demanding Components
Tubesheet drilling is one of the most precise operations in heat exchanger fabrication. Each hole must be located accurately on the tube pattern and drilled to the correct diameter and finish so the tubes seat and seal. We drill tubesheets from 4 inches up to 470 inches in diameter and from 1 inch up to 35 inches thick, producing the high-quality hole patterns that high-integrity tube-to-tubesheet joints require.
Our drilling capability extends to large work envelopes up to 120 by 120 by 15 inches thick, accommodating the heavy plates and components common in process equipment. This lets us drill flanges, supports, and structural components that would otherwise require outside machining and additional handling.
Milling on our machining centers, with capacity up to 60 inches in diameter and 50 inches high, handles flange faces, sealing surfaces, mounting features, and other precision surfaces. Combined with our lifting capacity of up to 200 tons, we can manipulate and machine very large, heavy parts safely and accurately.
Performing this machining in-house, under the same quality system as our fabrication, keeps tight tolerances controlled and removes the schedule risk of shipping parts out for machining. Whether the machining supports a complete Roben vessel or is supplied as a standalone service, the work is documented and dimensionally verified.
