Roben, Mfg., Inc. specializes in the custom engineering and fabrication of c32/c2 splitters for chemical, fine chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, defense, and power-generation industries. Every project is designed to ASME Section VIII Division 1 (with optional Division 2), is National Board registered, complies with the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED 2014/68/EU) for CE marking, and is registered under the Canadian Registration Number (CRN) system for all Canadian provinces.
What C32/C2 Splitters Are
A C2 splitter (ethylene-ethane splitter) is a high-purity distillation column that separates ethylene from ethane in olefin plants. A C32 (or C3=) splitter separates propylene from propane. These splitters are among the largest and most demanding distillation columns in industry — running hundreds of feet tall, hundreds of trays, and operating at low temperatures and high pressures to achieve polymer-grade product purity.
Why C32/C2 Splitters Matter
C2 and C32 splitters are critical to ethylene and propylene production for the polyethylene, polypropylene, and chemical-derivative markets. Their height, internals precision, and reflux ratio determine the plant's polymer-grade product purity (≥99.95%) and energy consumption. Tight relative volatility makes these columns engineering-intensive.
